2026 Manali-Kasol Travel Guide

There is something magical about where the Beas River rushes through the rugged hills of the Parvati Valley with the smell of pine in the air. Since way back in the day, a trip from Delhi to the Manali-Kasol area has been viewed as the benchmark for backpackers throughout India, and as we move towards the 2026 travel season, that attraction has only continued to grow.
That said, here at Voyagers’ Beat, travelling is about much more than just visiting well-known places; it is about being in tune with your surroundings and telling and sharing stories by the fire at night. It doesn’t matter if you are an individual explorer searching for others to share your experiences with or a group of friends looking for some extreme adventure; this complete trip guide will help get you all set up to crush these mountains together!
The Manali-Kasol Circuit is More than Just Part of the Hindi Culture
Manali is known as the "Adventure Capital" of the northern region because of its abundance of snowy peaks, and Kasol is known as the "Mini Israel" of India due to its relaxing environment and "psychedelia cafes", as well as its amazing hikes. When both areas are combined together, they create a full and complete experience that includes all things related to the Himalayas, whether for the thrill seeker or the person looking for peace of mind.
Your Day Begins in Manali's Bustling Streets
For most, this will be the first stop along the trip before heading into the heart of Manali. The area has changed so much since last year, and visitors now have the option to explore some pretty special areas outside of the busy Mall Road.
Atal Tunnel: An Engineering Wonder of the World and Sissu
When you pass through the Atal Tunnel, you will never forget the change from the lush green fields of Kullu to the dry, barren landscape of the Lahaul Valley in under 15 minutes. Additionally, you can stop at Sissu to take pictures of its beautiful Sissu Waterfall and its stunning turquoise lake, which is a fantastic backdrop for that "Glowmad" photo you want to post on your social media account.
The Enchantment of Old Manali
After you cross the bridge over the Manaslu River, you enter into a new world. Old Manali contains a collection of wooden homes, lots of graffiti and some of the best trout fish in the country. A great place to hang out would be at a cafe along the river, and you can hike to the Hadimba Devi Temple, which is an old wooden structure built in the 1600s and located in a large cedar forest.
Solang valley for adrenaline junkies
If you're a thrill-seeker who loves heights, then Solang Valley is going to be your adventure playground! Try some zorbing or paragliding at Solang Valley with breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal mountain range, and create many memories! If you're lucky enough to be in the area in early 2026, you can enjoy some world-class snow activities in the valley.
Kasol – the Gateway to the Parvati Valley!

A 20-minute beautiful drive from Manali takes you to Kasol. It is not only a destination but also a place to hang and feel good.
1. Enjoy Food and Café Hopping!
Kasol has a heavy Israeli influence, and if you go to Evergreen Café, don’t forget to have a tasty Shakshuka breakfast and a Nutella crepe! While there, the sound of the rushing Parvati River is a soothing backdrop to your meal.
2. Go on the Chalal Walk!
To experience some of the "Old Kasol" charm from Chalal, do the 30-minute walk to Chalal. The trail winds through tall pine trees and along the bank of the river! This is an excellent place to sit, relax, meditate, and watch the colours change as the sun goes down over the mountains.
3. Finding Peaceful Sanctuary at Manikaran Sahib.
You're going to have to experience the contrast of the freezing waters of the river against the boiling hot springs in Manikaran (less than 4 km from Kasol) yourself, but we can assure you it is a natural phenomenon that will amaze you. Manikaran Sahib is also an important part of your spiritual grounding; visit to feel spiritually grounded.
Logistics for Your Trip to Manali & Kasol: 2026
If you want your trip to reach its optimal height, the best way to do so will be via an overnight Volvo. The trip from Delhi to Manali/Kasol by Volvo will usually take approximately 12-14 hours. The roads are well paved; however, it is best for someone with a lot of experience to drive the mountain curves at night.
Pro Tip: Transport/permit/accommodation planning can be overwhelming. Find out more about our 2026 Himachal Group packages to help you plan your trip without dealing with all the logistics so that you can focus on the memories.
Weather
1. March to June – Great temperatures for visiting, and the mountain passes are usually starting to open.
2. October to February - This is the "Snow Kingdom" season! So if you want to visit during the winter (at least with some snow), this is the best time!
3. July to September – You will have an incredible amount of beautiful greenery caused by the monsoons but must travel with extreme caution due to landslides.
Traveling Sustainably in 2026
The Himalayas have stunning scenery but are also very delicate environments. Given that we as visitors bear some degree of responsibility for protecting the beauty of the mountains, it is important for us to keep them as free from pollution as possible. This can be achieved through carrying reusable water bottles, not using single-use plastics, and being considerate of the local Himachali people and their customs.
Closing Thoughts
The mountains speak to us and gently renew our spirit. From the thrill of the Atal Tunnel to the peace of camping by the river in Kasol, the Manali/Kasol circuit is the best way to get away from the pressures of living in a large city.
